5v5 tier list team fights updated 3/18/2019
Archangel- Has a use in any team comp thanks to his aoe silence that greatly limits his opponents capabilities. His insane hp allows him to tank multiple towers and even the core for what often feels like an eternity for the opposition in order to secure a kill. At max level he can get 75-90% uptime on his silence depending on his talent route and the addition of the cooldown buff.
Ink Ninja- The ignore defense gives Ink insane damage. When marked, his ult can one shot pretty much anyone in the game. He's still incredibly squishy, so using his s1 and s2 defensively, as well as utilizing the grass is important when playing him. Because he's flexible and can play offensively or defensively, there's never a bad time to pick Ink.
Diva- While she may not even be the strongest healing support anymore, the large radius on the heal and the huge stun means she's always viable no matter who her teammates are which is something the other healers can't say.
Technichian- The tech has huge damage while being fairly tanky for a mage. With the ability to aoe nuke without putting herself in harms way, as well as the busted mage talents, she's insanely strong. Like the other three, she's also able to fit into any team because there isn't any matchups she hard loses and even when behind on levels she can be a large factor.
Gun mage- Has huge dps and a 3 second long immobilize. He's a total powerhouse in the hands of anyone, and the only thing holding him back is that he's not a very flexible pick.
Golem- Is absolutely ridiculous after the update with the continuous aoe stun and slow, and the only reason he isn't S tier is because he doesn't do too much on his own, so his team naturally gravitates towards one lane making them weaker to split push comps.
Magical Girl- Isn't the strongest pick ever, but she's never a bad pick which is why she's ahead of some stronger champions. She can be played traditional support or she can lane in a side lane. She's one of the strongest early laners and late game her presence can deter the enemy team from following up on an advantage.
Monkey King- Is still incredibly strong after his cooldowns got increased back to what they were. With his slow and flip, unless there are teammates nearby he can easily pick off opponents, even when they're hiding behind their tower.
Siege Tower- Is just stupid good, the only problem is she's a bit situational. Her S2 S1 combo does huge damage but isn't a big threat against ranged cc, and her ult can be avoided by ducking behind a wall. Yet she's still this high, which just goes to show how tanky she is and how much damage she does when her combos do hit.
Astromancer- Is the best defensive champion in the game. Because she's more difficult than most top tier characters, she's often overlooked in favor of stronger and easier champs. However, when in the hands of someone who's comfortable with her, she can wreck havok on opposing teams. Her only hindrance is how flimsy she is, but if her teammates protect her, that will rarely come into play.
Blade Master- She got a pretty big nerf in update 5, but she's still a huge threat. She's gone from a team wiper to a true assassin with the damage reduction, so when playing her don't dive into full teams expecting to kill them all, try to find picks off to the side. When playing her make sure you're maximizing early exp so you can destroy the mid game and give you team a huge advantage by taking out enemies one at a time.
Tiki Warrior- Can control the match with her aoe speed boost, her slow, and her constant interrupt and pushback on her ult. After update 5 she's in more of a supportive role, but she's still a huge threat if you're not wary of her.
Time Keeper- Is no longer a secondary damage dealer, but he's a really good support as his heal is absolutely huge. His stun is still amazing, and his slow prevents anyone from escaping or following after him.
Greater Demon- Doesn't really do much damage but he's so tanky and full of utility that it doesn't even matter. He can offlane or control the fight in mid, constantly interrupting people who get too close.
Valkyrie- Has an amazing aoe speed buff as well as an aoe atk buff, her silence isn't a huge boon when AA is just a much better option but it's still helpful. Her heal is really small until the late game when it gets ridiculously strong thanks to it scaling on her attack.
Snake Lady- Her S3 is still just wave clear, but her S1 and S2 combo are incredibly deadly now that her S2 is a homing missile and the S1 radius has been increased. Still not the strongest pick but she can be deadly.
Bounty Hunter- Is a very under utilized champ, however with a strong aoe stun on a short cooldown, as well as great offlaning ability, he's a great pick to fill pretty much any role if better options aren't available.
Skand Flamer- Has insane dps and aoe damage allowing him to wave clear very fast. He is one of the best solo defenders vs teams and the only reason he isnt higher on this list is due to his talent tree losing out at lvl 12. The cooldown reduction and the cleanse with immunity and haste don't really do much for him.
Dryad- Is incredibly strong right now. She's the best healer in the game from mid game onward, and her S3 moving so fast gives her great zoning potential. The reason she's this low is because she's a backline support, and immobilize and a smaller healing radius makes her less universally useful.
Mercenary- She doesn't have the strongest kit, but she can shut down pretty much anyone 1v1 and can even carry if need be. She really doesn't have any losing matchups, but she isn't the best for team fighting so her usefulness depends a lot on who she's paired with.
Vampire- Isn't super strong by himself, but his ability to negate cc makes him extremely beneficial to have in the current cc heavy meta. His skills are a bit restrictive and outside of his S3 he doesn't have a lot going for him which is why he's stuck here.
Shark- Is a huge single target nuker, and the slow on his rush allows him to finish off anyone who tries to get away. He is built to generate kills, but he doesn't have a lot of defensive capabilities and his scaling is possible the worst in the game. He's built to dominate the early and mid game so as to give his team a large advantage before he becomes irrelevant.
Fairy- Has found her place as a split push specialist. She can out duel almost anyone 1v1 if she's allowed to free farm past level 10, and her excellent wave clear as well as big tower damage makes her a huge threat that the enemy team always has to be wary of. What holds her back is that she's abysmal early on and is never great in team fights, meaning her team has to play to her strengths and let her do her thing no matter the state of the game.
Pirate- Got a nice boost thanks to the increase range on S1 and S2. He's always been a nice niche pick and this just better pushed him into viability as a secondary carry. He has great utility on all three skills and good escapability. Because of his scaling he's not that great outside of the roaming role as he has to rush to late game in order to get the maximum out of his kit.
Dino Kid- Is a great offlane dueler. He can bully pretty much anyone and stack levels quickly, especially with his ability to pull all three jungle creeps in the blue jungle at level 1 and survive. But he doesn't bring a lot of team utility and he doesn't scale well, so for team games he should really only be played by people who know what they're doing.
Basilisk- He has the best stun in the game, and his shield is very good late game, but early and mid game he doesn't really do much, and his doesn't offer enough late to warrant the weak early game.
Kyo- He's got an ult that can squad wipe, but his other two skills are underwhelming at best. He has awful wave clear and terrible defensive capabilities. If you're winning he's a force to be reckoned with, if you're losing he's borderline a feeder. His ult is the only reason he's usable.
Naga- Is very nice post update 5. His ability to reduce vision of opponents makes him a huge threat. The only problem is that this isn't helpful in all team comps. It's best utilized when paired with ranged dps or assassins, and isn't great for or against siege comps which are pretty meta. The lack of damage and healing also makes him hard to justify picking unless he has perfect teammates who know how to play around him.
Skand Berzerker- Zerker isn't a strong pick. He can't carry. He can't really defend. He can't really wave clear. He also can't die. If you can get to late game as Zerker you become a monster split pusher that no one can deal with.
Sniper- Crushes the early game, as only Shark can really match her early damage. She is basically impossible to kill and rotates extremely quickly allowing her to be everywhere at once. But she's pretty hard to use and her scaling is just as bad as Shark's. She's just not a good option at this point, especially when you consider all of her attacking skills are skill shots.
Boon Sister- Is just a really bad support. She does less damage and heals less than every other support except Naga. But her S3 is nice and the slow is helpful so you can justify using her if that somehow fits what your comp wants to do.
Mai is extremely strong, she's just hard to use and doesn't heal or tank as a support. She requires a team that knows how to play around her as well as access to waves and/or jungle creeps to empower her skills, which supports generally don't have access to.
Crow Hag- Can be extremely strong if used correctly, but she can't 100-0 anyone and is weak early and immobile all throughout the game. If she gets caught out she's a goner. But if she's on a team that can utilize her S3 to it's fullest extent then she can be a force to be reckoned with.
Skand Warlord- Can absolutely dominate a game, but he needs a team to play around him in order to do that. He's hard to pull off and he can't really do anything well himself. His lack of tankiness as a tank also means he struggles if your team gets put on the defensive.
Esper- Has massive damage on her ult in addition to aoe silence. She also has a slow and stun on S1 and a built in shield, making her virtually impossible to take out at high levels, and hard to escape from as well.
Psion- Is annoying to face, but besides that he doesn't bring much to the table. His wall and push can help protect weak teammates, but unless he catches someone by surprise he doesn't really scare anyone.
Dragon Guard- Has bonkers damage on his S3 as well as an aoe stun. Besides that he doesn't really have much going for him. He's not extremely tanky and his wave clear is bad. Just not a great pick.
Derby Girl- Is pretty terrible thanks to her lack of tankiness as well as her low damage output. However, she is still one of if not the best offlaner in the game, as she wave clears incredibly fast at higher levels. She also is one of the few champions with outplay potential, so if you know what you're doing and get a massive level lead she is still able to take over a game.
Sentinel- He's a great 1v1'er but just isn't a great team player. He is extremely scary to face without backup, but his wave clear isn't good enough to threaten a backdoor and he can't carry or tank so he's just not a good pick.
Bomber- Has a rather empty kit, as besides constant interrupts, he doesn't really offer much. He's usable, and can catch an opponent off guard, but for the most part there's better options for the same role.
Fox Assassin- Just doesn't bring much to the table. She's great for defense and can potentially take out even the densest of tanks with her dots if she's fed, but she's killed incredibly easily and doesn't provide much support for team fights. As an assassin her damage is just too low to warrant picking.
Ranger- Has decent dps, a nice dodge, and her slow allows her to pick off targets. She's one of the fastest tower takers in the game, but she doesn't offer much utility and her damage pales into comparison to most other picks who also have the bonus of having much better cc or other types of utility.
Spearman- His vamp can be scary in a one on one, but that's really all he has going for him. His S3 can 100-0 pretty much anyone, but it's really hard to land it all, much less land it all on one target. He just isn't viable.
Candy Munchkin- Does good dps late, and that's pretty much it. She is just never a good pick.
team fights are the generally more fun and challenging than 1v1 games. in team fights, there is a larger need for a balanced team rather than a champion that's only point is to kill faster than the other team can kill.
