Ultimate Blitz (Legendary difficulty) Guide
In Depth Ultimate Blitz 1-50 Guide (Mostly F2P) Normal to Legendary
So this team will be able to take you from 1-50 in Legendary Blitz if 6 starred and geared correctly. As the initial list is mostly f2p there are obviously some swap ins that you can use to make it a bit easier. ( Note this team can clear Epic Blitz at 5 stars with *average* gear).
The core of the team is composed of a basic setup, the Tank (Light AA), the DPS (Water TK) and the Supports (Light Boon, Dark Dryad and Nature Valkyrie) A lot of the team is interchangeable as I've made the initial list based off of easy to obtain champions, but the core concept of how the team works stays the same for the most part. I'll list some alternatives a bit further down.
The main idea is creating a team that can survive the large amounts of damage is dished out as well as being able to apply the essential debuffs. The essential debuffs that your team needs is Ongoing Damage, Attack Break, and Mortal Wounds. There are plenty more that are useful and will make your time easier, but without these 3 there's just no point in trying.
Vael'or The Light Archangel - I've chosen Light AA here as he is easy enough to grind out for anyone that is far enough into the game to farm ED/SW10. He isn't the *best* choice but he works more than effectively enough. The Light Archangel in particular is a useful addition to the team as he brings an AoE silence, attack break, a team shield and some light healing. Stack HP on him but ensure you have enough Accuracy so that his atk break and silence connect at least some of the time. If they're resisting everything then there's not much point in bringing him along. Also has a good leadership trait if you find that your team can't handle the incoming damage.
Alternatives - You can sub out the Light AA with most other AAs, pretty much any of the Greater Demons or a Basalt/Monument (Monument can be very good with his perma armour buff and God Tier Passive) - and on some floors you may need to. At the end of the day the tank's role is simple, absorb damage - anything else on top of that is gravy.
Gameplay - 99% of the time, when not autoing, you'll be in control of the tank so you can position the enemy team where you want them to be (generally against the wall so they aren't cleaving the rest of the team). If you have the AA on adept with Water TK leader trait, then his ulti comes off cooldown fairly quickly which means you can keep the enemy team spell locked for a large amount of time. If they cant chain cast, they're dealing less damage which makes the healer's jobs easier.
Manas the Water Timer Keeper - So the Water TK is one of the core units that can't really be changed out - on the bright side, he's easy enough to get so it shouldn't really be an issue. We include him in the team as the damage dealer because of his Ongoing Damage, it's on a fairly low cooldown and he dumps two stacks. The reason we take him over other OGD champions like Snake Lady, Skand Warlord or any other number of alternatives is for the utility that he brings for the team. He brings along cooldown reduction through his leader trait and passive ability, Mortal Wounds and Block Buffs through his ultimate, and a Heal from his first ability. He's a good all rounder and he will be your primary damage dealer.
Alternatives - Basically you can replace him with Sharma the Dark Time Keeper if you're lucky enough to roll one, but that's about it. (At least with the way this team is structured)
Gameplay - Will spend most of his time on auto, however if he gets distracted because enemies are running rampant then you need to micro to him to time his Ultimate or get out of a tight situation.
Support #1 - Violet the Dark Dryad - The Dark Dryad is another Core member of this team that is fairly non negotiable with this composition. She has a cleanse, a heal, and Mortal Wounds. The light Dryad is basically the same but unfortunately, without Mortal Wounds she falls short of being an alternative. She is easy enough to obtain through farming the Dark Demon Bull King. It just takes time. Lots and lots of time......
Alternatives - Amending my prior note on this subject where I said you cant really replace her -- You definitely can replace her for a lot of floors where enemies aren't healing. There will just be some floors that she will make your life a lot easier. I now *generally* run a combination of Water MG/Water Diva, sometimes ill run Water MG/Dark MG if I feel the team needs to be tankier and I cant afford to sub in the Fire Dragon Guard. I'll combo the healer's depending on whats needed. The point is you can clear it WITHOUT the diva or the MGs but you can't clear it without the Dark Dryad - Unless you have crazy luck and have 2 Dark TKs a Dark Pirate, Diva and Dark AA. But assuming you're like most of us and dont have that luck or expendable income, get the Dark Dryad.
Gameplay - As per Manas, she'll mostly do her own thing, you may need to micro her if she gets distracted by a non priority target and it's holding the team up.
Support #2 - Xenia the Light Boon Sister - Now I've added Xenia into this list because she works, is easy to get, and has a simple but decent enough kit. Much like your first girlfriend, there are definitely better choices but she's easy and convenient. Xenia brings an *AoE* Strip, a heal, a stun, a little bit of CDR, and an Armour Break. She should be built with HP%/HP%/Acc so she'll be able to take a couple slaps to the face.
Alternatives - Ideally we would have the Water/Dark Magic Girl or the Water Diva in here, as their kit is better all round for straight healing and clutching the win. But Xenia is free and farmable.
Gameplay - Same as the DPS and other supports, switch to her if you need something from her kit in a specific area.
Support #3 - Rota the Nature Valkyrie - Rota is a decent all rounder that sees a lot of use in many team comps. She brings an Attack Break, Armour Break, Atk Speed buff and some CDR, her damage output isn't too bad, but as the enemy team has a lot of HP she'll only really be a drop of water in the pond compared to Manas.
Alternatives - So you can sub Rota out for Sigrun the Light Valkyrie fairly easily. Sigrun brings more damage but slightly less utility as her Atk Break is on a bigger cooldown (But effects multiple enemies and hits multiple times) and she doesn't have the atk speed or CDR. You can remove her completely in some circumstances where you need to bring other things to the party. If you have a light AA, then he has the atk break covered, and her Def break isn't essential due to a majority of the teams damage coming from OGD. So you can be creative here in who you situationally swap her out for. I've found the Wrona the Water Hag works very well on some floors. Again depending on whats needed on some of the harder floors, I'll swap her out for another healer, or sometimes another tank.
If you use this exact team it's doable but it won't be easy. This definitely isn't a clean sweep team unless you get lucky rolls and are able to substitute out some of the weaker team members for some of the stronger ones. As I mentioned earlier on, this team can beat Epic at only 5 stars with only a few situations that you have to change them up.
Floors to note.
Floor 39 - This floor has two Dark Crystal Priests and a Water Archangel on the second wave. This team can NOT beat the second wave as there's just too much healing and not enough damage or stripping. If you substitute Rota for the Wrona the Water Hag, then you will absolutely destroy this floor and the Water Hag's damage will easily eclipse the Water TK's. I can't stress enough how good she can be on some floors so definitely build her up.
Floor 33 - This one can be painful as the second wave has 3 Roller Girl's and they knock your tank all over the place. Once they do, they generally aggro onto the squisher members of your team and kill them very fast. This one's all about positioning and a bit of luck. If you're not having much luck then you can sub in Monument the Fire Dragon Guard so your supports aren't getting 1 shot. Otherwise Water Magic Girl works well, though she can only save one of your champions and more often than not the Roller Girls are positioned to smack all the supports.
Floor 23 (Legendary Only) - This floor features a Dark Dryad as it's final boss. This one in particular can be painful on Legendary difficulty as her healing is huge. I've found that the normal setup doesn't work out too well without some serious luck. When I personally run it i go with the Fire Greater Demon, Dark Dryad, Water Magic Girl, Water Time Keeper and the Fire Shark. I run the fire shark for the legendary mortal wounds and I haven't pulled a light shark yet. And i run the Fire Greater Demon as he just makes life a little easier when it comes to separating the boss from its adds. I'll pull the adds to one side and stack everyone else around the dryad (So they dont get distracted and hit the adds) as obviously you need them all to be hitting the dryad with mortal wounds. Any tank could work in Var'Ghor's place, but he just makes it easier to position them. In short, If, like me you are having issues with only dark dryad and manas not being able to cover the demand for mortal wounds, level up a fire or a light shark!!
Other than these three in particular none of the preceding floors should give you too much trouble outside of a bit of bad luck. On the final set of 10 floors there's a few painful ones in there. Just stick to the general trend of seeing what you're lacking, or what's dying fast and why, then try to patch it up with a substitute that I've listed. Or get creative and try something else.
As long as you have your bases covered with this team, the right buffs and debuffs (OGD, Mortal Wounds, Strips, and suvivability buffs), then it should perform well assuming your gear is optimised. It will be a tough slog if you run this exact setup on legendary but it will work. On normal you can auto at 5 stars and as I mentioned you can be somewhat lazy with this team on Epic difficulty at 5 stars. Just keeping in mind the final 10 floors and floors 33 and 39.
I'll continue to update and refine this as time goes on. Cheers!
Now obviously the team I've listed is pretty stock standard and achievable. However if you can include some of the following member's they're going to make life easier.
1. Youko the Water Magic Girl - As you probably already know this champion is God Tier. Big fat heals on low cooldown, defence break, Buff Block, AoE Cleanse, passive that will help with one shotting and a party wide damage reduction. She's got it all and you should replace Xenia with her if you are lucky enough to find one.
2. Yua the Dark Magic Girl - Very Similar to the Water Magic girl except her ribbon throw ability doesn't apply Armour Break or Block Buffs, and her Healing Circle doesn't cleanse, instead it gives everyone in the circle the armour buff.
3. Cai Wenji the Water Diva - Solid healer definitely. Good kit with damage reduction from Starstuck, long stun, and a great heal. Pound for pound the best healer in terms of overall healing. However this alone isn't always reason enough to bring her, as with everything it's situational. Although she's not a bad choice on many floors at all.
4. Greater Demons - They all work in Blitz. Best ones are Fire, Water and Light. The other two are definitely usable too. They provide a great leadership trait with 20% CDR, Overall tankiness, a strip, --- Currently Editing ---
